During the month of August, Anya has been on 6 flights and away for 15 days total. At the beginning of August she was complaining because her father was going to be away. She hates to be without her dad, so she dragged me (that's actually a lie--I dragged her!) to our nation's capital for a visit to her friend Victoria (and mom Debi) and to learn a little bit of American history.
Poor Victoria always has to go with all the friends who come to visit to all the sites. She was bored to sleep (better than to tears)!

However, I think she liked me, I tried not to be too boring, but actually I think I was a novelty compared to the sites.
Anya got to meet one of her mom's favorite mission companions--whom she loved immediately.

She didn't seem as impressed with Mount Vernon as I thought she would be . . . (you might have to click on this to enlarge it to see her expression for yourself).

But she did love the boat cruise down the Potomac River.

I think she wondered why none of these soldiers moved at the Iwo Jima memorial.

Yep, Anya DOES have a big head when you look at a normal baby. Last I checked it was in the 90th percentile or so. Big head, short body. (The second picture makes it look like her head is in the 900th percentile!)

Anya and Victoria got along great . . . well, most of the time. Although Victoria is actually one week younger, she is months ahead in the mobility department. However, Anya had a few quick moves of her own.

We had a great time in D.C. We'll be back soon! (I have to make my annual pass to Mount Vernon worth the extra 5 bucks, you know.)
