Dance Party

Occasionally John initiates a Dance Party after dinner. Here is a little segment from the last one:

Diaper Facts

To date:

• Size 4 is the largest diaper worn by a Salmon girl. Not because we are potty-training our kids early by any means . . . Anya and Austria were both 3 when the process really started in sincerity.
• One month shy of 3 years old, Austria wore a newborn size diaper. When John and the girls visited me and Olympia at the hospital the day after her birth, Austria needed a diaper change, but she had no diapers with her. John put her in one of Olympia's newborn diapers to go home.
• We have used 10,946 diapers. Can you believe we (actually I am still keeping track, somehow John's idea turned into me tracking the count, every now and then he makes sure I'm still tracking it) are still keeping track?

Oly

Olympia will be 8 months in a couple days. Just a few facts:

• She doesn't care to roll over unless she really wants something and her 4 slaves won't get it.
• She doesn't crawl.
• She has no teeth yet.
• She's our biggest 8 month old (16 pounds people!).
• She is very happy.
• She doesn't sleep through the night (especially last night . . . wow)
• She has inherited many things from her mother, one of which is closing her eyes when the camera snaps.
• She loves to "talk"
  
• And we think she is very cute :).

Vocations

Anya: "I really want to be a gardener when I grow up."

Me: "Oh, really. I thought you might be a good Doctor because you love to learn about white blood cells."

Anya: "No, I really like smelling flowers. But maybe I could be a vet. Or a mail carrier."

Me: "Austria, what do you want to be?"

Austria: "I think I just want to be a princess."

Home

Last week we were home due to sickness. We listened to a lot of books on tape (yes, cassette tapes! Thanks Nanz, Bop, K, &W). We made a road for our cars out of masking tape (thanks H!). And even posed for some photos.

Gum??

We went to the park. We had a marvelous time, our weather is great! I stepped on gum. Twice. I can't even remember the last time I stepped in gum once . . .
