A couple of people have asked why we went to Washington, D.C. this last week. Some of the reasons include: one last trip before the second child is born, we found a great price on airfare, what better place to be to celebrate the Fourth of July and we wanted to scope out some prospective futures for us.
But the main reason, which trumped all others, was that Lindy has a membership pass to Mount Vernon. When she came back last year and told me she bought a yearly pass to Mount Vernon, I was somewhat surprised since we live in Atlanta. It was almost like owning some prescription glasses when you are blind. You just can't use them that often.

So, being raised to not let anything go to waste we simply had to go back at least once to make the membership a good deal. (Yes, we spent a lot more just to get there but at least we got our moneys worth for the membership...) :)

We took a picture of Anya in front of George Washington's mansion in a similar pose from a year ago when Lindy visited Mount Vernon without me. According to plan, we waited until the end of the day when Anya was hot, hungry and tired...

Looks like she was a little more upset this year....
