Music Matters

John and I both have family members who have worked hard on their musical talents. We have not. We now wished we had (yes Dad, you were right . . .). We hope maybe our girls will be more diligent and have plans to pick up where we left off someday after dissertations are complete and babies are bigger . . .

Austria practiced I Love to See the Temple diligently for the Primary Program (we had the SR nursery join the kids on one song). I like how she sings the first verse: " . . . a place of love and beauty, I'll prepare myself while I am young, this is my favorite duty."

Monday our Family Home Evening was about Emma Smith and her assignment to compile hymns into a book. The next day, Anya was singing and asked me: "Is that song in the boy book?" I was confused and asked her what she meant. She replied, "You know, the boy book of songs Emma made." We had a little discussion on hymn vs him :).

Beachy Keen

If our girls could choose where we lived, they'd choose the beach. Including Olympia---she can't stand long drives (or short ones for that matter). However, since GA Tech is not on the coast, we made a quick trip with a few other GA Tech families. We had a fabulous time and Olympia managed not to get sunburned (thanks LC for the sweet sunscreen and KH for the tent!).

Double

Babies are supposed to double their birth-weight between 4-6 months. Though I do wonder about those born under-weight and those big babies who are nearing 10 lbs . . . Olympia doubled her birth-weight last week. We celebrated by taking some pictures of her double chin and trying to get her to smile at the camera--instead of stare at it. We were successful in capturing the double chin, unsuccessful in catching a smile.

But we have two other girls willing to strike a pose for the camera.

Compare & Contrast

A good parent never compares their children to each other :). Do you know who's who? Some people tell me they look alike, some people tell me they don't. I don't think they look alike that much, until I see pictures. I use to rely on hair length, now I have to consider other factors like the couch or apartment setting to make sure I know which baby it is . . . that's the REAL reason we move every year.
