Talk Around Here

While riding in the car after what must have been a particularly thought-provoking joy-school session, Anya said: "Turn off the radio Mom, I need to think."

After talking about the city of Enoch and how righteous they were, I asked Anya: "Do you think our city will ever be righteous enough to be taken up to heaven?" Anya's reply: "No. Remember those people that took Krista's wheels?" Anya is referring to over a year ago when our friend's wheels were taken at our apartment complex.

Anya is learning Praise to the Man in Primary, she loves the chorus: "Hail to the Prophet, send him to heaven!"

Austria while making a poor attempt at eating: "I can't eat that. Remember? I'm sick, I have a baby in my tummy."

Context

Some things are cute on babies and small children. For example, onesies, pacifiers, toothless grins and the outfits our children choose. But these things just wouldn't work for adults.

The last couple weeks, I've been surprised at the number of people commenting on how much AUSTRIA looks EXACTLY like me, while Anya looks like a "mix" of John and I. This is odd because most people since Anya's birth have commented that she is the "spitting image" of me. Then, with Austria's birth, most people comment she looks a little bit like John!

At first I thought, maybe Austria is starting to look more like me! How flattering! Then I realized the REAL reason people are saying this: I'm 30 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy for me means CHUBBY CHEEKS! So while Austria's cheeks are adorable (and getting slimmer each year), I don't think they are quite as adorable on me :). So watch carefully, I may end up looking more and more like Austria when she was a baby:

Travel Deal

We like a good deal when we travel. This quick trip to the beach (minus the gas to get there!) was a little too good to be true :). Our accommodations left a few things to be desired . . . but since Anya puked in the hotel's breakfast room, I guess it was the perfect place for us to stay. We even had several chances to talk about the Word of Wisdom and keeping our bodies clean and holy (think tattoo's and such). However, all sarcasm aside, the beach is the trip of choice for our family even if we don't stay in a 4 star hotel!

Names

I asked the girls what we should name the baby if it is a boy.

Austria: "Just baby." Then later, "Scar!" And she laughed her little evil joking laugh . . .

Anya: "I don't know. Mississippi?" I guess after having Austria, she is kind of into naming children after locations. She then proceeded to come up with many names for boys and girls: "Alex, Ryan, Kaylee, Kate . . . " All of which are friends/cousins of hers.

As many of you know we don't find out the gender of our babies until D-day. This requires us to come up with both male and female names. One might think we have at least ONE male name since we have two daughters, but the male name we would have used if our first birth had been a boy is off the list. The male name we were going to use for the second birth is not as liked by one of us this time around. Ironically, we have a very solid female name that hasn't changed for a long time. I find male names more difficult. Obviously we like somewhat unique names. But not crazy (at least we don't think so . . . though I actually did have one person ask how to spell Austria even after I said her name was Austria, just like the country--I guess she didn't do very well in geography?).

So, if you have any ideas for us, send them our way, we could use a little help :). We only have about 3 months left to decide!
