Unsupervised

When I bought these markers, I made SURE they were washable, since I was worried they might get a little bit on their clothes. For some reason, crazy things happen when I'm on the phone longer than 3 minutes, so don't expect long phone calls from me :).

(I should have taken some body shots, they got their arms, legs, stomachs and feet--but they were very happy. I was actually impressed with some of their designs. John said maybe our next FHE lesson will be on tattoo's.)

Oil Free

Since our nearby beaches are becoming a little oily, we decided to hit Bear Lake while we were in the West. Though the water is often a bit brisk for us southerners, the girls and their cousins didn't seem to mind.

Better

Today as we were talking about leaving my parent's house, Anya said, "But I like this house better!"

I don't blame her. Take a look for yourself:

Better yard. Oh wait, A yard, seeing how we don't exactly have one of those yet. Grass that you can take your shoes off and run on.

Awesome driveway. Lots of room to draw with chalk, make a long hop-scotch and ride bikes on.

Catty.

Mountain views.

Basketball (and an uncle to help you reach the hoop).

Wagon rides (powered by an aunt) on the streets (which means there isn't a lot of traffic).

WAY better bikes. With a Bapa to drive.
A fun Nanzo who cooks, cleans and plays.

Happy Fourth of July!

After my yearly meat fest around the Fourth of July, I was going through our pictures today and found some old ones I thought were cute. I found two pictures in which they both have a near-identical expression:

Also, I noticed I haven't posted videos in a long time so maybe Austria will get a kick out of this one I rediscovered. (I hope she laughs because that is such a nice sound...)

Happy Canada Day!

To celebrate this special day, I turned on the radio...

That might not seem that spectacular to you, but it was quite the party in my car. You see, I set a goal to not listen to the radio for a full year (starting last June 30th). I don't even think Lindy knew. I wanted to see how much I'd really miss it and see if the music significantly degraded over a 12 month period. The jury is still out on the latter experiment since I only heard three or four songs in total today but I'll let you know if the music is truly any better or worse than a year ago. (At least my opinion, whatever that's worth...)

Regarding the former experiment, I'm not sure I was missing that much anyway. Now, it's likely I overheard music in stores and at red lights through two panes of glass but never enough to really keep up to date with the industry. My disc jockey brother will be appalled. Still, I was required to listen to some children songs from time and time when a little girl in the back seat demanded it, but those songs can't really be counted as pop music. (Pitter-patter, what's the matter? Little rain drops!)

Lastly, the most exciting thing may be that I still can't name one Lady Gaga song or would even be able to identify her as the singer. I just don't know what she sounds like. From what I've heard and read about her career though, I hope my year off of music exactly coincides with her 15 minutes of fame... Here's to hoping...

Happy Birthday, Canada!
