Helping Olympia During her First Week

Anya and Austria have been great helpers! Here they are checking out Olympia's head and making sure there are no bruises or cuts (after possible mishandling by the same hands...)

Anya makes sure Olympia can't roll off the couch. So far she's been perfect in that task. ;)

Austria will hold Olympia and wakes her up if we need her to (or when we don't), with multiple kisses and hugs...
...but I would wake up for kisses from this little girl too!

Olympia also received some beautiful flowers from her great aunt. (They were much more beautiful in real life. Our camera is also dying...). Thank you!

Anya made sure to inspect every rose for Olympia's sake and took some pictures with them too.

The girls love their little sister and can't wait until she can talk, walk and play dress-up!

Yesterday was Olympia's official due date and she already is 2 ounces over her birth weight! Hooray! She was as low as 5 pounds 1 ounce at the hospital. (For the sake of comparison, that is like me putting on 35 pounds in one week. I think you'd notice...)

Olympia Salmon Ends the Contest Early!

Olympia Joanne Salmon arrived today to the surprise and joy of all of us! What a blogaslovenia!

She weighed in at 5 lbs 6 ounces, 17.5 inches tall, and checked into the game this morning at 10:46am. Today's date, July 21st, was 6 days before her official due date, blowing up all records, trends and precedence in the Salmon family.

I didn't even have a chance to summarize the contest entries from all the participants (one of this weekend's projects), but just like that, the contest is closed and the winner will be contacted shortly. ("Shortly" is a relative term here...)

So, while the scores will be low this round, and you can be almost sure you didn't win, please take solace in viewing some pictures of a beautiful, healthy baby girl (with her family members)

Saying "cheese" a little too strongly:

Still in the delivery room with Olympia's parents:

Four to one. My gender will never have a majority in the Salmon Senate now...

We love you, Olympia! Welcome to our family!

Good Luck!

Our baby is due July 27th. We do not know the gender.
