Power

At our house, getting ready for church is somehow much more difficult than getting ready for ANYTHING else. I don't know what the difference is. I'm sure it is NOT this way at your house and you never get to church, ironically, fuming mad. Despite my efforts to prepare everything possible the night before, something crazy always happens. This particular morning Anya was having trouble deciding on what dress, what shoes, etc. And SHE had to decide. And SHE was certainly setting the pace (which was a little slow). SHE was in charge!

The song Scripture Power came on during this process. Anya stopped and said, "Mommy, Scripture Power! My favorite, because I like power!" How true :)

March MADness

All of the upsets in the NCAA tournment are making a lot of people--and things--upset!

A few examples:

All four wheels of a car we know and love walked off and have not returned. Truly a revolt due to someone's brackets being totally messed up.

One man at the library was in rage when he learned a fee went up just days before he got there. Another woman at the library (a LARGE woman) refused to MOVE until a policy was changed. I wonder if she is still sitting there . . . Obviously both people chose Kanas to go all the way.

Fortunately my brackets are currently still doing okay, we got to eat pie (that someone else made!) and we have been wearing bowls on our heads. So we are happy, for now.

Ode to Auch

Anya's nicknames for Austria: Auch, Auchie (Derives from when Austria was born and Anya's inability to say the "s-t-r" sound in Austria.)

Anya warning me while tickling/wrestling with Austria: "Mommy! Be careful with my little sister!" I almost got time-out again.

Anya's song she made up about her Auch: "I love you. You are my favorite. I want to keep you."

Q & A

Question: How can you get upgraded to first class without paying a single cent?
Answer: Get puked on by the woman behind you.
(FYI: However you consider it, lucky or unlucky, we didn't get fully puked on--John just got a few drops on the back of his head. The man behind him and the two ladies behind and back one, got to move. This woman had some amazing reach with her vomit.)

Question (posed by John while driving): Should I honk at this guy?
Answer (by me): No. Relax. (He had just honked at someone 2 minutes before.)
Answer and Reproof by Anya: No Mommy, we like how the horn sounds! We need to go home and you need to go in time-out!

Question from me: Anya, will you help me clean up?
Answering with a question after task is completed: Are you happy now?
