You Decide

Ever since Anya popped out of the womb, I have had comments from strangers in the grocery store, people at church, and even my own mommy that Anya looks like me. A woman in Kroger one day came almost running up to me (I thought I had dropped something or she needed some help) and stated over and over that it was almost scary how much Anya and I looked alike. I'm not sure what that means exactly--scary? Maybe she didn't think she was my child or something since I look so young, but we are related, and so we are bound to share some similarities I suppose. Now I can't really see THAT much of a resemblance when I look at her. But during my last visit home I saw some pictures of when I was little and well, you can decide for yourself . . . I think the pictures will give away which is me (if not for the lone fact of the decor and clothing).

Two Weeks Behind

I've taken some big hits lately. My university threw me a curve ball and moved up my PhD candidacy exams by two weeks. So I'm now officially two weeks behind.

I've been trying to make up the "lost time" but I have a serious problem wanting to hang out with my "little girls" at home. I decided to start staying later into the evening since my girls are too much of distraction. I sometimes just sit there with Lindy and watch Anya play, destroy, sing, dance, eat, and laugh for hours. It's quite addictive. And there is no AA equivalent for this type of addiction. In fact, it is encouraged by everyone whose opinions and views I respect and believe...

Thus, I will simply have to put my addiction on hold for a month and suffer withdrawal symptoms. My passing these exams depends on it!

Well, you didn't come here to read about me "accepting" my condition but to see cute little pictures of Anya...

She meant no disrespect to anyone when Anya took off her shoe to wave it around at things...

Walking with Pants On!

Tuesday wasn't as super as Anya would have liked and so she got off the computer from watching polling results roll in to practice walking around a little more. This time with pants on!

She is loving her new freedom more and more everyday. In fact, she was quite proud of herself these last couple of days as she can walk faster than her dad. I suffered a minor injury playing basketball and so chasing her is no longer fun for her. She can easily run away from my "un-intimidating limp speed."

Also, we have begun her training to fetch my shoes in the morning but so far all she will bring me is her ball. Still, any developmental progress is exhilarating to watch and hopefully we will be able to report on her scrubbing our floors in the near future... So far she just sits in her book box...

Happy Birthday to my 'great' Uncle Mark!

Super Monday

Anya has been following the primaries and caucuses and has written her congressman asking to lower the voting age to 1 year old. She feels she is better informed to make the right decision than most Americans.

Anya has been resting up for the big day. Georgia's primary is tomorrow (along with many others) so Anya is allowed to stay up until the last polls close in California. She will remian glued to the television long after her parents have fallen asleep. If there are decisive leaders in both parties, she will have a lot more time to practice the piano until November.
