We held only three races, the 400m, the 100m and the 800m.
Anya destroyed the competition in all events in Micheal Phelpsian style!
For the 400m race, the four competitors were neck and neck for the first 3 meters. They slowly spread out over the next 10 meters and then three of them stopped for regrouping at the 20m mark. Anya was way in the lead by then. The other three held hands the last 380 meters but didn't stop after that which was pretty good for a bunch of three and four year olds.
Here she is preparing for her race. She's the one pixel moving in this video:
The 100m event was much more wild. Two of the contestants wanted their father to carry them to the finish line. It slowed him down sufficiently to let Anya win her second gold of the day. She ran it in 34 seconds. (If his children didn't stifle his progress he would have given her the first piece of a humble pie she needs to eat someday...)
Anya likes to try out the different lanes at the same time for maximizing her speed:
After the tough races at the beginning of the morning, only one competitor had the strength and emotional fortitude to run in the 800m long distance event. So, although Anya claims the gold in this event, the stipulation was that she couldn't stop for an entire two laps around the track. She was successful in that too and received her trophy for finishing the race without any motivating competitors to chase her down like Sea Biscuit.
Well done, Anya! Don't slack off on during off-season! It's now yours to lose next time...
