Another snow storm. This time school was canceled for 3 days. We lost power one morning. Anya's reaction: "No computer? No iPad? No Netflix?" Then John and I started chatting about the fridge. Anya again: "The fridge doesn't work?" Yeah, we are a little too reliant on electricity. I asked: "What do you think is important in the fridge that we could put outside if we need to?" Anya's reply: "Ketchup! And syrup!" (Yes, we keep our syrup in the fridge. John doesn't know why. I don't really know why.)
So now we at least have a game plan if we get snowed in without power. And we know our priorities. Save the ketchup and keep the iPad charged!
Fortunately for us, we had our power back on in about 30 minutes, I know there are many others who weren't so lucky and it was a long few days for them. I'm just glad we were home together and that my kids got bored in a warm house with plenty of food. And that between the computer, iPad, Netflix and occasional boredom, things like this pop up.
